I think there is something magical about the days before a big life event. The mixture of excitement and nerves associated with these times have always had a certain appeal to me. In some ways I am almost more drawn to this slow clock ticking time than the actual event and I have to admit that I have a habit of making it a bit of an occasion in itself.
I’m a Product Manager by profession, so it is only natural that my first instinct would be to build a roadmap for this project. This has grown slightly bigger as it’s more a roadmap of my life at this point.
Pictured in this blog was the starting roadmap on my wall at home. I’ve learned a few things from it:
- I have terrible handwriting.
- I have a problem spelling the word preparations.
- That seeing this roadmap and its goals on my wall in my bedroom every single day is helping to make it a reality and is helping cut out the unnecessary.
